Research & Discovery

A Research & Discovery phase is an indispensable opening to all 15 Abel projects. Creating assets without determining the strategy behind them beforehand results in an inconsistent, ineffective brand presence, diminished brand trust, and ultimately a loss of revenue. R&D is therefore a jumping-off point from which we can determine the most effective approach. Although an R&D phase is a prerequisite for any project, we also offer these services as a standalone option.

Process

We know starting a new project may feel intimidating. Our time-tested method keeps everything concise.

Phase 0:
Onboarding
We begin our partnership with an intro call that outlines some potentials for our work together, answers your initial questions, and determines if we're the right fit to move forward together. We'll also go over some info regarding what to anticipate with our process, policies, and creative fee structure.

If the project is a go, we then prepare an official proposal for your consideration, outlining the specifics of the work we'll do. After the proposal is accepted and final contracts are signed, we're ready to officially begin!
Phase 1: 
Ideation, Research, & Discovery
In this phase, we'll define the scope of work and game plan the best strategy for it going forward.

The 15 Abel team will conduct a Research & Discovery period during which we set project goals, milestones, and metrics; develop an original creative brief, compile a mood board, and identify potential project risks.
Phase 2: 
Process & Creation
Following a substantial preparation period, we continue onto project work.

We'll conduct one or more brainstorming sessions for the purpose of topical, informed rapid idea generation. We then streamline these brainstorms into viable components which we present to you in concept form.

Once you select and approve a concept, we spend the remainder of this period developing it into the final product, sharing status updates and progress with you along the way.
Phase 3: 
Review & Approval
Now you can finally see your concepts brought to life! We'll share the content and/or products we've created for you for final feedback and approval.

You'll give us your feedback, which we use for further refinement per the revision cycles we've determined in our onboarding phase.
Phase 4: 
Launch
We did it! Enter the final phase: product launch. We can finally show the world the phenomenal work we've created together, and you can reap all the benefits of your shiny new creative marketing.

There will be some light housekeeping - a final invoice and follow-up to make sure we've addressed all your needs - and then you're all set to grow off on your own.

Why is brand identity so important?

Your brand’s identity is the single most important communicative tool it has.

We know this could sound hyperbolic to you, but think about it for a moment. How often have you been drawn to a brand? Think about the times you’ve been intrigued by an unfamiliar yet snazzy-looking product at the grocery store, judged a bottle of wine by its label, or paused to actually glance at - not scroll past - a compelling ad.

Great branding captivates; terrible branding repels. Customers form opinions about your company or product by its branding alone, long before they step into your office or store, and even before they start doing the research about it online. Most of these first impressions are gained just by glancing at your campaign.

You know your product is great and could compete in the market. That’s why you’re developing it. But your audience, unfortunately, does not...not yet, at least. That’s why we’re here to help. Do you offer à la carte services?

Yes and no. Some of our services we can offer à la carte, but they still require a Research & Discovery phase in order to be effective.

Although it might be nice to make a quick buck by churning out a generic logo and calling it a day, we find that approach irresponsible, and we love what we do too much to do it half-assed. A brand is a delicate ecosystem that requires all its elements to work together strategically and synergistically in order to succeed; therefore, a piecemeal procedure will create inconsistencies that decrease brand trust and drive consumers away.

For the sake of both your business’s longevity and budget, make sure you’re hiring a team that will give your brand the proper care and consideration it deserves. It is always much more cost-effective to do it well the first time.

What services do you not offer?

15 Abel is a creative agency. Creative agencies are often confused with digital marketing agencies, but, while there’s some overlap, these two entities have mostly different offerings.

As a creative agency, we develop and execute creative strategy and content, whereas digital marketers focus on driving viewership rates for said content. Marketing companies need creative agencies - after all, it’s hard to increase engagement on content that isn’t even engaging to begin with!

For our clients, we offer branding, design, content creation, and research & development services. We don’t handle social media management, pay-per-click advertising, email marketing, or inbound marketing, but we can refer you to some great folks who do.

Where can I find info on your pricing and rates?

We don’t list standard rates for standard packages simply because there’s no such thing. Your project is a highly unique entity and should be treated as such. If you drop us a line, we'll be able to give you a ballpark estimate as to what your project might cost.
